There are many threats for the safety of students online,
not only in the classroom but also at home, however it is a teacher’s
responsibility to create a safe learning environment for students at all time
weather they are at school using online tools such as wikis or using the same
school wikis at home. These threats can include; students finding inappropriate
information, inappropriate advertisements, advertisements that could lead
students to inappropriate websites or sites with viruses, cyber bullying or
stranger danger. Students have to be aware of the information they are putting
online at all times, and need to understand that anybody can get access to
their information, teachers also need to be fully aware of what the students
are putting online at all time in order to keep them safe.
